Marloes Verhoeven comments
Interview at the Your City conference with Marloes Verhoeven (the Netherlands), one of the 20 winners of the Your City competition
There is no way to go but ahead! What the hell should persons use the pens and papers during the conference? For the time being, one can not do in a conference without microphones, screens . To catch up with the millennium goal development, can we go backward?
I guess they comment not because they are fed up with mismanagement but because they have not in the conference.
spot on!
the same message, once again, the young people and the elderly divided by a gap that even all of the money and resources used by the conference couldnt bridge. What would it have taken really? Just a simple selection of a few groups and the committed inclusion of some government representatives, one table, no microphones, no screens, just some pen and paper and open dialogue.
This would have signaled a REAL commitment by those in charge, a commitment they suggested a number of times but WHERE WAS IT ACTUALLY MADE? its hard not to be bitter.
It is a wonderful thing to recognise how gracious the young people who are commenting on this conference are being, still finding time to thank the organisers and find the positive aspects when in actual fact they have every right to rage rage rage against another blatant misuse of resources at what could have been a groundbreaking event.
